The Master Gardener + “Him to Be The Gardener” poem by Jessica Vergara

Happy Easter Sunday!

I am so happy to share my newest Christ painting with you all today. This painting is a celebration of Christ’s life as a creator and our gardener. It means so much to me, and I hope will bring you peace and joy. My friend Jessica Vergara also wrote a beautiful poem as a collaboration piece inspired by this painting.

Him to Be The Gardener
By Jessica Vergara
Supposing him to be the gardener
She mistook him
The Bible says
However the spirit whispers a different truth
It wasn’t a mistake.
Buried, and nurtured
Pruned, and corrected
We grow beneath his hands
Until we cradle his feet
Washing them with dew-drop tears
Blooming under his expert care
The gardener—
And we, the garden.
